LEADERSHIP

Mike Job

SCL Civil Works Director

Mike is well respected within the civil construction sector both in Hawke’s Bay and across New Zealand.

He’s been in the industry for over 20 years and has a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil). He has vast technical experience managing small, large and complex civil projects, previously working with one of New Zealand’s largest Civil Engineering companies.

Mike is highly proficient at managing contract conformance and developing strong relationships with clients and all stakeholder parties.

Mike likes to get involved at the very early stages of a project, when it’s just an idea and he can bring the vision to reality.

Career highlights so far include the new gate way to Hawkes bay constructing the Watchman Road Project and Ground works at Delegat Winery

Sundar Raila

Site Engineer

Sundar Raila moved from Nepal to New Zealand in 2012, relocating to a new and exciting country that wasn’t the United States or Australia.

Since arriving in New Zealand Sundar has gained a diploma in civil engineering and has worked for another firm as a civil engineering technician. He’s currently studying for a B Tech in Civil Engineering.

As a site engineer, he oversees the day to day site management including building key relationships with clients, all site contractors and council staff.

Although Sundar hasn’t been able to get back to NZ in the last 18 months, he’s keen to return to see family. In his spare time Sundar plays football, gets to the gym and enjoys experiencing the great outdoors.

Mita Henare

Operations Manager

30 year’s experience as a drainlayer places Mita in a great position as SCL’s operations manager that every job goes to plan.
“I make sure it all works – that on every job, the right gear is on site, there’s enough staff and that we’ve worked out all the truck movements.
Mita ran his own Civil Contracting business in Wellington for 19 years before making the move back to Hawke’s Bay about 10 years ago, to get a bit closer to Nuhaka, where he grew up.
